In-sung is an unemployed college grad trying to become a police officer for the last four years, and he is suddenly dumped by his girlfriend who does not give him any explanation. He then gets fired from his part-time job without any pay and gets kicked out from his tiny room after missing a rent payment. On the brink of despair, In-sung decides to take a job as a drug test volunteer for a pharmaceutical company because the pay is good. The drug is a generic version of a hit drug that had its patent recently expired. But he suffers an unpredicted side effect from the drug that gives him superhuman intelligence and strength. He is suddenly able to accomplish tasks that were nearly impossible for him to achieve before and instantly becomes an attractive man as he can win over any girl he wants…

So In-sung, 28 – Unemployed college grad applying to join the police department (Starring Yoon Shi-yoon)
Unemployed after graduating from college, he has been applying to become a police officer for four years without success. He makes terrible fashion choices. He lacks motivation in winning. Not only does he have zero marketable skills, he is also socially inept. Juxtaposed with these negative qualities, he is somehow an overeager optimist. Though he is not the type of guy that girls find attractive, he has a girlfriend called So-ra. He does the bare minimum to maintain his relationship with So-ra but she is the light of his life as he endures the tough job market. Then out of the blue, So-ra dumps him. Another string of setbacks hit him at the same time and push him to the brink of despair. But he is given an opportunity to become an attractive alpha male who easily gets women!

Wang So-ra, 27 – Unemployed college grad applying to become a teacher (Starring Cho Soo-hyang)
She once dreamed of becoming a concert pianist but due to her family’s limited financial resources, she is now trying to get a job as a music teacher. But after preparing for the music teacher exams for six months in the Noryangjin District, she has lost her motivation and finds herself in a bad state. Holding a part-time job while trying to prepare for the big exam has made it difficult for her to keep seeing In-sung. So she dumped him but somehow that keeps bothering her.

Cho Ji-seob, 28 – Unemployed college grad applying to join the police department (Starring Kang Gi-Yeong’)
Along with In-sung, he has been applying to join the police department for four years without success. He is a stingy guy who is a shameless freeloader. He will go out to eat at expensive steak restaurants and not pay his share. He believes that the way a man looks does not matter in his attractiveness to females. He also considers himself to have great fashion sense and that is part of the reason he is so self-confident. He offers dating advice to In-sung all the time.

Gong Moo, 30 – Traffic cop (Starring Kim Min-su)
Along with In-sung and Ji-seob, he applied to join the police department and he finally got the job a year ago. While his friend In-sung was preoccupied with dating So-ra and his other friend Ji-seob was distracted by girls and clothes, he focused on preparing for the police officer test which meant he had to forgo dating while going without sufficient sleep and food. He is tall, attractive, socially outgoing and looks great in a police officer uniform. But nobody knows that he has a secret crush on So-ra.
