Synopsis

We are living in an age where money rules the world and buys anything. Some even place the absolute measure of happiness on material gain. Money, fame and social ascension ? they are all necessary elements in life. While they are conditions of happiness, not the end itself, we are leading our lives not thinking about the meaning and value of life but rather being controlled by material pursuit, without realizing it. It is, of course, up to individuals to set their goal on money, fame, social success, or anything else for that matter, but the choice should be premised on peace of mind. The drama unfolds stories of people who follow the hearts that they were born with, rather than artificial values. “Love” is what gives us the strength to go on in this world. Every human being is bound to love oneself, one’s family and others, and through the love for others, we form yet another family and create another “me.” They say there’s nothing more precious than family in this tough world. That is why it is said that blood is thicker than water. Then from where comes the saying “A family is something you want to throw away if nobody is watching?” Even a family is not built on blood alone. It is built by love. This drama is about “love.” It’s a story about people who are realizing love and about a woman who follows her own heart and toils to win her love. A woman who has everything falls in love with a guy who lives with his grandmother, his widower father and who got his high school diploma only through the equivalency exam. A love is a condensed form of life, and life just doesn’t turn out the way you plan or hope for. Countless mountains and waters await you. This is a story about finding life’s true meaning and happiness by overcoming all adversities with sacrifice, patience and forgiveness, which are all other names for love. This is a story about love fought for. All love requires effort. Here there is a love between a man and woman as represented by Dong-soo and Seon-joo. Dong-soo’s family is formed by blood but founded on love and in Seon-joo’s family, material wealth takes the highest priority. The drama intends to show what we should do to win true happiness and also the fact that a caring, healing and hopeful love can arise between new family relationships created by marriage.
