Fatal Attraction Collides in the Posters of [The King’s Daughter]

MBC’s new drama series [The King’s Daughter] broadcasting from Sep 30th presented four kinds of posters.

In the posters, two characters, Seol-nan(Soo Baek-hyang / actress Seo Hyun-jin) and Seol-hee(actress Seo Woo) confront each other however which attracts viewers’ attention. In the main poster, Seo Hyun-jin is emitting graceful elegance whereas Seo Woo is radiating with the glamourous charm.

Seo Woo is acting Seol-hee, the girl who steals her elder sister’s destiny and pretends that she is the real ‘Soo Baek-hyang’. In the poster, Seo Woo expresses the lady full of ambition. Seol-hee is known to have the beauty that shames the moon to hide behind the clouds and to meet such reputation, in the posters, Seo Woo is dressed up in bright red costume with big and illuminating ornaments.

However in another poster, Seo Woo is expressing the timid self being nervous that she might be discovered of pretending to be Soo Baek-hyang. Her sister Seol-nan’s peeking at her implies the struggle between them.

[The King’s Daughter] is a costume drama depicting the life of ‘Soo Baek-hyang’, the daughter of King Muryeong. The drama covers the turbulent history of the Baekje Dynasty and its royal family: desperate story of love and survival.

It is written by Hwang Jin-young who has written for the film [A Frozen Flower] and directed by Lee Sang-yeop who has directed MBC drama series [Light and Shadow] and [Still Marry Me]. In 2011, writer Hwang Jin-young and director Lee Sang-yeop worked together for MBC special drama [The Peak] commemorating the National Liberation Day which won the Best Award for the Special Drama Category of World Fest-Houston Int’l Film Festival.
