Title MBC`s Main Plans for the Year 2007

2007 will be a year for us to leap forward into a brighter future.
MBC has selected 10 main production plans for 2007, our promise to viewers for an aspiring Korea. The first of these plans for a stronger economy and a brighter nation in 2007 will be the year-long campaign intended to revive the economy which has been suffering from a long spell of sluggish growth. Also, the special full-feature historical dramas “The Four Guardian Gods of the King” and “Lee San-King Jungjo” will bolster national pride. MBC will also sponsor the 2007 World Women’s Forum, an occasion in which leaders from around the world come together for in-depth discussions on female leadership development and success.
MBC’s 10 ambitious main plans are listed below, including the completion of the Ilsan Production Center, which is to be used as a digital station.

1. Year-Long Campaign
The economy will be the most pressing issue of 2007.
Regularly scheduled programs and special live broadcasts covering specific issues and suggestions concerning the stability of the real-estate market, low employment, and regional economies will be aired to revive the economy and employment figures which have suffered from slow growth, as well as assessing the current condition of the Korean economy ten years after the Asian Financial Crisis.


2. World Wide MBC
Foreign channel services will be expanded and new foreign content markets will be developed, so that MBC can reach viewers across the globe.
24-hour broadcasting of MBC will begin in the U.S., while B-MBC (provisional name) will be launched in Mongolia’s local terrestrial broadcasting network.

3. Digital Station MBC
Through the completion of the Ilsan Production Center and the new MBC building at Sangam, Seoul, we will be equipped to provide viewers with the highest quality digital broadcasting.

4. A New Era – 10 Million Listeners, Internet Radio Mini

7. 10-Part HD Documentary Commemorating 15 Years of Korea-China Diplomatic Relations -
As China prepares to become one of the superpowers of the 21st century, this documentary gives fresh insight on the nation’s past, present, and future through studying the Yellow River.

8. Special MBC Production -
A musical production of , an incredibly competitive work, will premiere domestically during the first half of the year and will later be staged around the world, continuing the trend of Korean culture’s popularity.

9. MBC Campaign for Social Contribution - ‘Making a Better World’
This campaign will include the activities of young volunteers to aid the disadvantaged, as well as charity contributions by well-known figures.

10. 2007 World Women’s Forum
Leaders from around the world will convene in the 3-day 2007 World Women’s Forum scheduled to take place during Sep. 12 (Wed) through Sep. 14 (Fri) 2007, to discuss the development of female leadership and success, as well as various other related issues to create a community where women worldwide can lend strength to each other.
