MBC's new television drama series 'Love Truly' started production in Kangwondo, a northeastern province of South Korea on February 20. The major casting is done, and the show is scheduled to air Saturday, April 1. Set in Cheong Wa Dae (or The Blue House) the executive office and official residence of the president, the drama depicts the everyday life of people working at the Blue House.

Summary
'Love Truly' is a romantic story of a young couple's love and struggles at the Blue House. The couple grows as professionals in their respective fields as they fall in love with each other. The show's uplifting and hopeful message 'Love is strength and hope' derives from the beautiful lives of ordinary people.

Production Note
The producers of 'Love Truly' realize that prime time weekend dramas lack variety in themes and storylines, while other types of TV shows are constantly looking for new ideas and changes. In order to retain or attract viewers, prime time dramas need to broaden their scope and come up with more creative topics.

Most prime time dramas have focused on family values. 'Love Truly' is more about people than families. It is about a group of people who each have their own ideas and ways of life. Unlike most prime time dramas that tend to be serious and depressing, this new drama series will provide both romance and comedy. Viewers will be able to enjoy watching a totally new type of TV drama.

* Who lives in the Blue House?
The show is set in the Blue House, however the main characters are not the president himself, or his family members. The show's lead characters are ordinary people with ordinary jobs such as a chef, bodyguard, carpenter and photographer. The drama is about them and their daily lives.

Main Characters
• Chef at the Blue House, Yeo Bong-soon (Eugene)
- A country girl living in the year 2006.
- A new kind of bushman living in the 21st century, who speaks in a dialect which no one can understand. She grew up in the countryside with her grandmother, but after her death she unexpectedly came to Seoul to be a chef. Her thick accent and eccentric behavior show how she was isolated from people and society for a long time. Aspiring to be a chef, her life in the Blue House is full of ups and downs.

• Presidential Bodyguard, Nam Bong-ki (Lee Min-ki)
- A perfect couch potato.
His personal maxim is 'If you can't enjoy it then avoid it; avoid anything you don't want!' He is a lazy procrastinator and not ashamed of it. His professionalism may be lacking, but he makes up for it with his dedication and undying passion. Although he finds Bong-soon's nature of meddling most annoying and intrusive, he can't help but fall in love with her sweetness.

• Son of the President, Jang Jun-won (Ryu Jin)
- A smiling, humane man.
He is a handsome, intelligent, warm-hearted doctor who is the son of the President of South Korea.
Although he seems like he's got it all, his real life is far from what it seems. As a resident doctor, he never has time to get his hair cut or go shopping for clothes. He doesn't care about what he looks like. All he cares about is his work and his wife who is slowly dying from Alzheimer's. It is too painful for him to see her in such pain. Only Bong-soon's spirit and smile can help him get through.
