| Korea to transmit by ATSC method |
On July 8th, the government and broadcasting officials have decided to proceed
toward digitalization by using the US ATSC transmitting method.
Currently, the metropolitan areas such as Seoul, Inchon, and Kyounggi
have been the testing location for the new method. By the end of August, the
test areas will expand to the cities of Busan, Daegu, Kwangju, Daejon, and
Ulsan. Therefore, the officials hope that 80% of Korean viewers will watch
television via digital broadcast.
