Synopsis

Unpredictable, sidesplitting character show
'The Special of My Life' is a drama which has creative ideas, active characters, and a fresh, new provocative style. It does not sacrifice its characters for the good of the story but instead tries to focus on the characters themselves and have the spotlight shine on them and not the drama. Just thinking of the drama will make you laugh, and you'll feel connected to the characters in the drama as though they were your good friends that you'd think of in times of need.

The hilarious life of three men that you won’t be able to watch without laughing your head off
A funny and touching story of three friends from high school. Park Kang-ho is a police officer in the violence and crimes department, Baek Dong-goo a scamp full of morality, and Jung Hyung-suk a low-class lawyer. All three fight to live up to their impure dreams while confronting head-on with the absurdities of society.

A provocative new kind of drama
A new style of drama with a provocative and speedy development, a narrated document technique, daring use of animation, powerful talking lines, and many other creative techniques never before used in a drama.

A warm and cheerful comfort to the stragglers of our society
Our society is overly single-minded, but if you remove just one layer from it the humor in it becomes apparent, so you shouldn't get upset and discouraged for failing or cry for falling behind. This drama gives people who have lost hold of their dreams a chance to laugh with, hug, and share true feelings with those around them. As well, it aims to remind people that life is always worth living.

"He has a good reason for his wrath."
Two years ago on a spring day something happens that changes his life: his wife dies in a subway fire. He attends a protest with other family-members of the deceased asking for a thorough investigation into the accident and a guarantee that it will never happen again, but all they received was a cold reception.
He just needs a billion to leave the country! He'll do anything to get the money; there is nothing in the world that will stop him from earning the money.
Kang-ho found out that the bad people were neither the pickpockets he was catching nor the thieves, but the society itself, which doesn't even take responsibility for its own people. The real bad people are those people wearing golden pins as signs of their power; the same ones who lie to avoid their responsibilities and pass them on to others; those who just let matters sit at their desks instead of making new plans. Also, no matter how hard he tries to catch pickpockets, thieves, and gangs everything stays the same. At his wife's funeral he shed bitter tears and decided to leave the country. But the only way he can leave the country is through investment-business immigration but in order to do that he needs a billion won! But do misfortunes really never come singly? He leaves for Canada only to find that everything was a fraud and loses his whole life's savings.
A billion to leave the country! He’ll do anything to get the money; there is nothing in the world that will stop him from earning the money.
And so he happens to meet two of his high school friends, Dong-goo and Hyung-suk. The three of them dive into their impure dreams and without willing it to happen justice keeps saving them. Now, Park Kang-ho, will he be able to find a reason to live in Korea?

"A prosecuting attorney with a lot of tears who is always making mistakes!!"
A proud and beautiful prosecuting attorney of the Special Forces department at the Seoul Prosecutor's Office, she is always well dressed from head to toe but there is never a day that she doesn't make a mistake. She ranked first the year she took the national bar examination and entered the Seoul Prosecutor's Office with high expectations from everyone in the office. She gets in trouble for a hit and run she committed on the Attorney General’s car on her first day of work. And that’s not all; she also ends up writing a letter of apology for investigating the wrong house. Her mistakes don’t end here they just keep on going.
She has been living alone in the kindergarten building her mother had been running before it went out of business. And ever since Eugene (Kang-ho's wife) passed away in the subway fire she gave one of the upstairs rooms to Kang-ho to live in and has helped take care of Han-gyul.

Baek Dong-goo: Seung Jea-loo
Lives for justice and dies for justice. "I'm going to protect Myung-ae."
The only scamp in Korea with some morality but a definite weak point is that he doesn't have any sense, is very stubborn and doesn't have any idea of what is going on.
In addition to the fact that his ignorance can not be measured, is the even bigger problem that he does not know that he is ignorant. Two years ago because of a mistake he made, he and his boss were forced to hide away from the police. They eventually were caught by Kang-ho and ended up getting sentenced to jail for 2 years. At the time police cars were behind him, blocking him from getting away while Kang-ho was blocking him from the front. He tells Baek-goem (his boss) to take the wheel and also tells him to run away and gets out of the car to fight Kang-ho but Baek-goem sticks his head out the window and yells "I can't go without you!" He gets out of the car to save Dong-goo from Kang-ho but they both end up getting caught and put in jail; but this is all Dong-goo's misunderstanding. What really happened is that Dong-goo had forgotten to leave the keys in the car so Baek-goem couldn't start the car. When he stuck his head out the window he really yelled, "Hey give me the keys!" The reason he got out of the car was because he saw the keys dangling from Dong-goo's belt and he was trying to get them when they got caught. A wonderful misunderstanding between the boss and his right arm! Because of the whole matter Dong-goo gets sentenced to jail for 2 years and Baek-goem for 5 years. 2 years later, Dong-goo finally gets discharged from prison, but all the bars in what once was Dong-goo's area have been taken over by his left arm, Pil-doo. "I'm not going to leave him alone." But his fury towards Pil-doo does not last for long. Pil-doo did not take over the clubs and bars; it was Baek-goem who had thrown Dong-goo away. He starts to take charge of another area with his underlings who have waited for him for 2 years.
